The College Preparation Program at Northwestern University
is designed for high school students like you who want new
academic challenges and the experience of real college life.
This summer program for high school students offers three,
six, and nine-week options as part of the Northwestern's
Summer Session, and you'll earn college
credit for the courses you take.
COURSES
Northwestern offers a bevy of summer courses for college preparation. With more than 350 undergraduate courses to choose from, the College Preparation Program provides you with a great opportunity to explore a variety of academic areas and get a head-start on your college career. Specialized tracks in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, and a number of different languages enable to you to lay the foundation for more advanced study once you start your degree program and get up to a full year of university credit in just one summer.
PREPARING FOR COLLEGE
The weekly Get Ready seminars prepare you for the transition between high school and college life, and they will help you navigate the college admissions and
application process with direct access to University admissions counselors,
financial
aid officers, and student services representatives. Writing
consultants provide the guidance you'll need to develop strong application
essays
and to write with greater complexity, confidence and interpretive
savvy in preparation for college coursework.
CAMPUS LIFE
Northwestern's beautiful lakefront campus provides the perfect setting
for academic achievement and summer fun. As a visiting
Northwestern undergraduate, you'll be responsible for your
own success and balancing the various demands on your time.
You'll mix socially and academically on campus with students from every walk of life, whether they are from your program or other Northwestern University summer programs. Along the way, you gain experience,
confidence,
and inspiration - a great way to get ready for college!
