About SCS

The Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies (SCS) offers a variety of part-time evening degree and professional development programs for adults. Most students who attend SCS work full time and attend college part time in the evening and, in some programs, on weekends. Many are completing a degree or professional development program to meet career and lifetime goals; others are seeking to satisfy prerequisites for application to graduate programs; and many simply want to learn more about subjects that interest them.

While the evening course offerings are designed to accommodate the often hectic schedules of working professionals, SCS programs offer students the intensive academic experience for which Northwestern University is known. Classes are held at Northwestern's Evanston and Chicago campuses and at the SCS Chicago Loop location. Certain programs may utilize other locations as well. Academic advising is available. Call (847) 491-5612 for more information.
