About Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies

The Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies is committed to offering relevant, practical and meaningful programming for adult learners. We are ready to be your education partner for life. Perhaps you want to further your education with a degree or a certificate; maybe you are preparing for new career challenges and opportunities; or you might simply want to explore a new interest. From our certificate and bachelor's degree programs to our master's degree and new professional development programs, the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) has a program to match your needs and interests.

Classes are taught by some of the University's most respected and talented instructors — scholars and professionals who value the diversity, energy, and creativity of our students. Attend classes on the Evanston and Chicago campuses, or at our new Chicago Loop location at 105 West Adams Street.

SCS gives you access to resources available only at a world-renowned center for learning: comprehensive library collections (Northwestern's is the 10th-largest private university library in the nation); innovative technology in and out of the classroom; labs, studios, and other facilities of the caliber you'd expect to find at a top university. And our academic advisers provide the personal attention you need to guide your next step.

Consistent with Northwestern's dedication to excellence, SCS provides nontraditional students with world-class learning opportunities and, to the greatest extent possible, provides access to the University's other resources, such as libraries, laboratories, recreational facilities, and events.

School of Continuing Study students participating in a master in medical informatics online program receive the same level of support and resources as on-campus students, further enhancing their connection to Northwestern University, no matter where they are in the world.

Our Web site offers program information, handbook resources for students and faculty and staff, course listings and descriptions, online and downloadable application forms, a calendar of upcoming events, and current press releases. Please contact us for more information or to schedule an appointment with an advisor.
