Students Celebrate Distance Learning Weekend

Current students enrolled in online graduate programs at SCS visited the Chicago and Evanston campuses this past weekend for two days of professional presentations, workshops and networking. Distance learning weekend, a yearly event, welcomes students on a local, national and international scale from the MSIS, MSPA, MMI and MPPA online programs. Attendees were treated to workshops conducted by their faculty and alumni as well as guest presentations by Microsoft Data Architect Pete Rodriguez, Chief Analytics Officer for Tera Data’s global alliance programs Bill Franks, Ken Stenhlik-Barry of IBM and Steve Hunst of Rotary International. Current Predictive Analytics student Cindy Heyer said of the event “This weekend has been really nice, you spend so much time on the discussion board it’s nice to meet face to face and to meet the professors." The weekend concluded Saturday afternoon in Evanston with a BBQ for current students and alumni. Click here to see a full photo album of photos from the weekend.
