About Listserv
Listserv is an electronic mailing list that offers an efficient way to disseminate information and hold long-distance discussions among many people. It can reach a large audience quickly, by automating the distribution of e-mail to all those who subscribe. If you sign up for the OLLI listserv, you will receive reminders about OLLI or Northwestern events with relevance to the members, and you will be able to communicate with others or ask questions on a whole range of subjects.
Currently, there are about 200 OLLI members on our listserv. If you would like to be subscribed to the listserv, simply e-mail your name and e-mail address to the listserv manager, OLLI member Irv Korita, at i-korita@northwestern.edu and tell him that you wish to be added to the list. If you change your mind, it is easy to unsubscribe as well. Just let Irv know that you have changed your mind.
Some Guidelines:
- Information that applies to members of a single study group should go only to members of that group via the coordinator's group e-mail list.
- Off-topic messages would include those postings that are unrelated to OLLI and its activities. These would include any partisan, political, religious or ethnic materials that do not meet the "general interest" test. Jokes and sarcasm are not appropriate.
- Members should avoid forwarding materials copied from other lists and remain cognizant of e-mail hoaxes. Links to relevant pages are preferable to "transplanted" information.
- Attachments are to be avoided due to the possible spread of computer viruses.
- Any personal challenge to a question of accuracy or fairness, or query aimed at obtaining a clarification or correction, should go to the message sender only - not the entire list.
Looking forward to communicating with you!
