Environmental Policy and Culture
The Environmental Policy and Culture certificate is an interdisciplinary program designed for those who want to learn how current scientific knowledge can be translated into policy and practice. Environmental issues and conflicts are emerging among the most important concerns of the twenty-first century. Issues such as global warming, efforts to maintain and restore biodiversity, and the reconciliation of development with environmental protection are of compelling concern. Social facets of environmental problems such as eco-justice have become increasingly important too. This program focuses on the intersections of policy, science and culture, giving the student a broad base of knowledge with practical implications for society and the workplace.
