Fundamentals of Accounting Professional Development Program
Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies offers a professional development program that provides students with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of accounting, including financial reporting and taxation. Individuals who have budget responsibilities or who aspire to such work will profit from a basic knowledge of accounting. Students who complete this program also will be well prepared to take advanced accounting courses.
Effective June 1, 2007, the accounting curriculum at the School of Continuing Studies has changed. The changes reflect national trends in accounting education. They are based upon a study of top-tier accounting schools, as well as the recommendations of an advisory committee that included industry academic professionals.
