Professionals working in human resources are expected to possess specialized knowledge in several fields related to employment, including employment law and labor law. Analytical and communication skills are also required. Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies has designed a professional development certificate program for human resource professionals or those who want to transition to the field. It systematically introduces students to each of these fields, providing foundational preparation in the recruitment, development, training, and retention of productive employees in the corporate environment.
