At Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies, you have the opportunity to build a custom certificate program to advance your career and reach your goals. If you have a particular interest that is not reflected in our current certificate offerings, you may propose a group of related courses. Upon completion of your specialized study program, you’ll be granted a certificate.

You can link individual courses from the undergraduate curriculum to create your customized course of study. Some students select and combine courses from existing certificates to meet their professional needs. For example, if you are interested in international marketing, you might choose courses from Global Business and Strategic Marketing to create a specialized International Marketing certificate. Other students customize programs to prepare for advanced study in areas such as comparative literature, urban studies, or cultural studies.

The certificate that you receive upon completion will list the approved title of your specialized study program.
