Creative Writing: Poetry
This program is designed for writers who want to develop
their skills in poetry while gaining an appreciation for
the diversity of the form. Students explore the nuances of
poetry writing in a small workshop setting. Developing writers
progress through a sequence of courses that foster a growing
awareness of voice and structure while encouraging reflective
practice through extensive reading. This program is appropriate
for those who have a serious interest in such writing, whether
they are seeking publication or entrance to competitive graduate
writing programs. Writing courses are taught by instructors
who are published authors. The School of Continuing Studies offers evening courses on Northwestern's Evanston and Chicago campuses.
