What You Need to Do
See the following categories to learn what action is required
by you for quarter conversion:
I have completed fewer than 90 semester
credit hours of study as of June 2004.
You might graduate in 2006 or later, after SCS has converted
to the quarter system. You
should attend one of the Quarter Conversion Information Sessions
to learn how the conversion will affect you. To learn more
about how specific multiple course sequences are affected,
click
here.
I have completed between 90 and 110
semester credit hours as of June 2004.
The amount of coursework you have completed is sufficient
for you to consider graduating before the quarter conversion
change in fall 2005. There may be advantages for doing this.
To learn about your options and how the quarter conversion
will impact you specifically, view the information on this
site and attend
one of the Quarter Conversion Information Sessions. To
learn more about how specific science and language course
sequences are affected, click

I have completed more than 110 semester
credit hours as of June 2004.
You should graduate before fall 2005, before SCS has converted
to the quarter system. If you do, the changes will not affect
you. To be certain that you will be able to graduate prior
to the conversion, and to learn what steps you must take to
ensure that you graduate on time, attend
one of the Quarter Conversion Information Sessions.
If you do not know how many credit hours you have completed,
go to CAESAR, and log in as a student to request an unofficial
transcript. The number of semester hours completed for each
class is listed there. Then return to this page and click
on the appropriate link above. (Please note: To access the
information on CAESAR, you must have an active Northwestern
NetID. You will find instructions for obtaining a NetID at
http://www.scs.northwestern.edu/student/information_technology.cfm.)
If there are transfer hours not reflected on your transcript,
or you believe that your transcript does not accurately reflect
the total number of credit hours you have completed, then
you must request a credit evaluation. Go to http://www.scs.northwestern.edu/ugrad/admissions/evaluation_of_credit.cfm
for more information about completing a credit evaluation,
or visit the SCS administrative offices to request a credit
evaluation request form. Please note: When applying transfer
credit, you must have an official transcript sent to SCS from
your transferring institution. Credit evaluations cannot be
performed until the official transcript has been received.
Transcripts may be sent to:
The School of Continuing Studies
Northwestern University
339 E. Chicago Avenue
6th Floor
Chicago, Il. 60611
Once received, you will be contacted by SCS with a letter
indicating your total semester credit hours, transferred and
earned, at Northwestern. Please note: Credit evaluations can
only be issued to students
already admitted (not preadmitted) to a degree program. Also
please keep in mind that students approaching graduation will
receive priority status for credit evaluations.
