Summer Session
In the summer, all the colleges of the University combine their
course offerings into a single catalog, published by the Office
of Summer Session and Special Programs. Thus, it is the one
time of the academic year that courses offered by other colleges
are available to continuing SCS students at SCS's tuition rate,
and without special permission. With a few exceptions, continuing
SCS students are granted three semester hours of credit for
each course. Students who register for their first NU course
during the summer, as students at large, and later register
with SCS, will receive the amount of summer course credit granted
to non-SCS students, which is usually 2.66 semester hours per
course.
Students should clarify with an adviser the credit available
for Summer Session courses, as well as the applicability of
those courses to SCS certificate and degree programs.
