Experience Summer at Northwestern
Whether you are a college student at Northwestern or another university, a high school student, or an
individual seeking professional development or personal enrichment, you'll find many ways to get ahead
and learn something new this summer.
Northwestern students can get ahead on credit towards their degree. And, most Summer Session courses are
open enrollment, which makes registration that much easier for visiting students from other universities.
Choose from more than 300 college credit courses,
including intensive sequences in which you
can earn a full year of credit in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or
a number of foreign languages. Courses are
flexibly scheduled, ranging from three to
eight weeks and taught during the day, evening
and on weekends. You can also apply for special
off-campus programs, including Field
Studies and Study
Abroad.
Summer Session on the Northwestern campus has something for everyone with a variety of cultural and
recreational activities. Enjoy the outdoor cinema series, summer concerts and Lunch on the Lake, as
well as recreational and sporting opportunities on the spectacular shore of Lake Michigan. Plus,
you'll be able to explore the world-class city of Chicago.
