Transfer Credits

Undergraduate degree candidates may satisfy up to one-half of their graduation requirements with coursework completed at another institution. In general, transfer credit is awarded for academic courses taken at a regionally accredited institution, passed with a grade of C (2.0) or better, and similar in focus and classroom hours to courses at Northwestern.

All transcripts from previous institutions must be submitted with the application for admission to the undergraduate degree program. Once admitted, undergraduate degree candidates must obtain pre-approval to transfer in coursework toward an SCS degree.

Students offered performance-based or transfer admission will receive an evaluation of their transfer credit upon admission. All previously completed courses are evaluated for transfer credit, regardless of how long ago the courses were completed. In general, courses are transferable if they approximate courses currently offered at Northwestern University.
