Former Northwestern Students

Northwestern University students who are in good academic standing but have not registered for one or more quarters of an academic year must file an Application for Former Students to Reenter. The application must be filed at least six weeks before the first day of registration of the quarter of return. Northwestern University students are not required to file an Application for Former Students to Reenter if they registered during the spring quarter and intend to return in the following fall quarter or if they registered during the spring quarter and intend to return during the Summer Session of the same year. A Northwestern student who has been dismissed from the university may not enroll as a Non-Degree Special Student for one year following the dismissal, and then only with approval from the dean of the school.
