Knowledge of political science is central to any profession that requires an understanding of human behavior, the relationships between people and governments or the analysis and communication of information about public problems. Knowledge of a foreign language will further augment career opportunities for political science majors. A background in political science is virtually indispensable for work in politics and government, law, journalism, science, business and medicine. Such professionals are in constant need of information on, and understanding of, the political, legal, governmental and public implications of their fields.
